Hagiographie ist eine der produktivsten Textgruppen des Oströmischen Reiches und beschäftigt sich mit dem Leben und Wirken von Personen, die als heilig erachtet werden. In dieser Folge werfen wir einen Blick auf die unterschiedlichen Kategorien wie Passiones (Märtyrergeschichten), Viten (Lebensbeschreibungen) oder Wundersammlungen und gleichzeitig betrachten wir die Entwicklungen und Trends der hagiographischen Literatur im Laufe der Jahrhunderte von der Spätantike bis in die spätbyzantinische Zeit.
